Embellished Dress – Effective Design!

What does constitute an embellished dress?
Embellishments are attachments that are stitched or attached to the dress after the garment has been made. Sequins, beads, frills, silver or gold printed designs are all examples of embellishments that can be used to further enhance the details of the dress.
These embellishments, therefore, make the item more eye-catching and attractive whilst worn. It also adds a touch of glamour to an otherwise simple design. Embellishments can be added to the hem of the dress, the neck-line, across the bust, to the front, back or sides and to the pockets (if included).
The main problem with embellishments is that they must be very well made to ensure that they do not detach from the dress itself at any time. Some designs are so simple that the loss of just a couple of beads, for example, can ruin an otherwise perfect dress. There is nothing worse than finding little pieces of your favourite dress coming away in your hand!
As a result, these dresses often have very specific and careful handling and washing instructions to ensure that this does not occur. It will then prolong the life of the garment ten-fold.
