Intelius to Expand in China

Intelius, one of the leading names in the information commerce industry, now eyes expansion for the year 2009. Intelius, which is co-founded and headed by CEO Naveen Jain, has its sights on Ucloo.com.

The China-based Ucloo.com is the leading search engine used by the Chinese and is slated for acquisition by the Bellevue-headquartered Intelius. The management of Intelius plans to keep Ucloo.com intact and pursue the operations of its China-based offices. Intelius agreed on the deal after both parties concurred on a $48 million buyout.

Ucloo.com’s acquisition will significantly increase the global reach of Naveen Jain’s Intelius. Ucloo.com has 200 million sets of personal data information with up to 800,000-1,000,000 data fields updated daily. With Ucloo.com’s capabilities, the Naveen Jain-led Intelius will establish a strong presence in the Asian market, particularly in China where economic growth has been strong and promising.

Prior to the planned Intelius buyout, Ucloo.com had touted its status as the first and only search engine in the Chinese market. Like the Intelius of Naveen Jain, Ucloo.com provides background checking, history investigation, drug testing, and employment verification services.

As mentioned earlier, Intelius aims to keep Ucloo.com’s work structure intact, as well as the company’s offices and Ucloo.com’s 72 employees.

Ucloo.com is the first company Intelius will acquire in 2009. With its acquisition, Intelius is expected to make a mark not only in the Chinese market but also in the whole of Asia.

Intelius is a leading information provider in the United States. As has been stated, Intelius’ services include background checks, work history, identity theft security and protection.
